Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

JAHC is an Open Access journal, with a peer-reviewed, rapid, and rigorous manuscript handling and editorial process.

  • Use our Microsoft Word template to prepare your manuscript;
  • Make sure that all the authors are informed about research ethics, copyright, authorship, figure formats, and references format;
  • Make sure that all authors have approved the content of the submitted manuscript and confirm that they read the Instructions for Authors.

Types of Publications

Manuscripts submitted to JAHC should neither be published previously nor be under consideration for publication in another journal. The types of publications are listed below:

  • Research Article: These are original research manuscripts. The work should report scientifical experiments and provide new information on that research topic. The article should include the most recent and relevant references in the field. The structure should include an Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions (optional) sections.

  • Guidelines, Protocols or Essays: These papers cover step-by-step systematical procedural instructions to clinicians for the care of patients with specific conditions. They can be consensus-based or clinical practice guidelines. 

  • Review: Review articles offer a comprehensive and global analysis of the existing literature within a research topic, identifying current limitation or problems. They should be critical and constructive and provide recommendations for future research. No new, unpublished data should be presented.

  • Case reports: Case reports present detailed information of an individual patient and the relative symptoms, signs, diagnosis, treatment (including all types of interventions). The authors submitting a case report must ensure that appropriate permission for publication has been obtained from patients.

Manuscript Preparation

Research manuscripts should include:

  • Title, Author list, Affiliations, corresponding author
  • Abstract, Keywords.
  • Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions (optional).
  • Supplementary Materials (optional), Acknowledgments, Author Contributions, Conflicts of Interest, References.

All authors should list the affiliation where most research was carried out for the preparation of their manuscript.

References

References must be numbered in order of appearance in the text and listed individually at the end of the manuscript. References should be in APA style (American Psychological Association). Include the digital object identifier (DOI) for all references where available.

In the text, reference numbers should be placed in square brackets [ ] and placed before the punctuation; for example [1], [1–3] or [1,3]. Examples:

  1. Author1, A., Author2, B.C. (Year). Title of the article. Abbreviated Journal Name, Volume, page range.

For the printed version of JAHC

Authors are encouraged to send a copy of the manuscript also in Italian language if they willing to publish their manuscript in the printed version of the JAHC magazine, in the next issue.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

Authors are encouraged to provide details regarding where data supporting reported results can be found, including links to publicly archived datasets analyzed or generated during the study. more info: Data Availability Statements

Copyright, Licensing, and Plagiarism policy

The manuscript should not contain any information that has already been published. If you include already published figures or images, please obtain the necessary permission from the copyright holder to publish under the CC-BY license.

For all articles published copyright is retained by the authors. Articles are licensed under an open access Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license, meaning that anyone may download and read the paper for free. In addition, the article may be reused and quoted provided that the original published version is cited. These conditions allow for maximum use and exposure of the work while ensuring that the authors receive proper credit.

Plagiarism, including duplicate publication of the author's own work, in whole or in part without proper citation is not tolerated by the journal. Manuscripts submitted to the journal may be checked for originality using anti-plagiarism software.
